What's new?

August = School.

So school finally started on Monday last week.. This is my first year of college. I've been lookingforward to it since I moved here in October! Everyone kept telling me that once school actually started I wouldn't be so excited. & I kept telling them "I will still be excited! I love school." I was wrong of course.. to much homework, not enough time for anything & you can't do anything without having the these words come across your brain: "Have you finished all your homework? Did you turn in that essay? Did you take that quiz? Did you read the next chapter?" & blah blah blah. & while I still love school.. I definitely want summer back! It went by way to fast. Didn't it just start? Didn't I just got married?.. wait no that was almost 3 months ago.. where the heck did the time go??

The Dark Knight Rises:

Did you know that I love batman? Well I do.. he probably is one of the best Super Heroes there is! Anyway.. After that crazy psycho incident in Colorado, I did not want to see the new batman: "The
Dark Night Rises" I was creeped out that someone could do such a thing to innocent people! But then
I realized, this world isn't as good as we think it is sometimes.. Creepy things like that do, in fact
happen. So finally Dee convinced me to see it. It was CREEPY!!
(Sometimes it is hard taking pictures with a smart phone.. at least for me.)

The Washington County Fair:

This might be surprising.. But I actually Love going to the fair.. or a carnival, or a festival.. pretty
much anything like that. Anyway so Dee was going to take me to the fair on Thursday the 9th of
August.. but that weekend I was going up to Weezer, ID for my great grandma's funeral so we went after work Wednesday the 8th of August instead (Which was opening night) We were only there for maybe 1 or 2 hours... I'm kind of sad we didn't get to go on the ferris wheel. ): But next time I told
Dee we have to go on it!! It was still fun walking around looking at everything even though it was SO hot!

Going to the temple before leaving:
Dee & I decided when we got married that once a week we would attend the temple. (Even if we're
on vacations) (Click on this link if you have no idea what a temple is or what the purpose of it is or simply because you're not
LDS: http://mormon.org/faq/topic/temples/question/together-forever) So I was supposed to leave around noon with my
grandma, Aunt Nan, & cousins on Thursday August 9. Dee & I had not gone that week at all & I was
going to be gone until Sunday. So we decided we would get up early & got to the 8:00 Session! It was fun & definitely made my day better.
(St. George Temple)

 Idaho Trip!
Since the funeral was in Weezer, ID I was super close to where my mom lives! I was so excited to see her! (I had not seen her since my wedding in June so 2.5 months.) The drive was about 10-11
hours. CRAZY long! haha. But it was fun driving with my cousins.
We left on Thursday because my cousin Courtney was graduating on Friday morning at 11am. So weall got to see her graduate! Then we left from Salt Lake to Idaho. We arrived at my grandparents house at 9pm & I got to just talk with my mom all night. It was much needed! (My mom is one of my best friends. I'm so so so blessed to have her as my mother!) I talked to her about the honeymoon & all the funny stories & we just caught up. The then funeral service was early the next morning (Saturday the 11th of August) followed by a luncheon. After that I went back to my grandparent's house & my Aunt Danielle & Aunt Jolie were there & they had me tell the story about how Dee & I met. It was fun. To end the night my mom & I popped homemade popcorn & watched a weird movie.. That I wouldn't Recommend to anyone.. haha So we turned it off early.. & I left at 7am on Sunday morning.

 Couldn't go camping..

But that wasn't going to stop us from having "Tin Foil Dinners"

OR

Roasting marshmallows over our stove...

OR

Making S'mores(:

We were supposed to go camping with our friends... But Dee got hurt at work & he wasn't able to going the water at the lake, So we ended up not going. I was sad that we weren't able to go, but then we found out you can't even built a stinking fire in Utah right now!! So to me it's NOT camping, unless there is a fire. & I was looking forward to roasting marshmallows, so I guess it turned out good that we weren't able to go ;) (Besides not hanging out with our friends.)

Baking With the Hubby:
Date night: Making cookies together!
Who would have thought that would be so much fun?? Well it was! I love the date night jar! Dee & I
get to try things we never thought of doing together.. & it makes good memories & I think we learn a
lot about each other (Even though we already know a lot ;)) Here are some pictures:
I'm so lucky to have a husband that bakes with me (:

Me putting the cookies into the oven (: ----->

Swimming With the Ward!
Last Monday our ward (Do not know what that is? Click here: http://mormon.org/faq/topic/church/question/ward-stake-branch) had an
activity night at the pool. Megan & Justin (my sister & brother-in-law) told us they were going, so we
decided we would go too.. even though it was the first day of school & we had homework. It turned
out really fun!

The Husbands jumping off the diving board(:

The cutest niece ever... & me. (:

Thursday Vegas Trip?
St. George is about 2 hours (Probably a little less than that.) away from Las Vegas.. This trip isn't what you think. Dee & I went to Vegas to go to the Las Vegas Temple! You know since the St. George Temple is closed for cleaning for the next two wees. & since we want to go to the temple AT LEAST once a week, The Vegas temple was one of the closer temples to us. Earlier in the monthwe decided that we would go to the Vegas temple! It is abolutey beautiful (But which one isn't? haha) It was areally neat expierence, so far Dee & I (Together) Have been to/in The St. George Temple (Obviously..we were married there!) San Diego Temple (On our honeymoon) & The Vegas Temple (Thursday August 23) Next stop.. Manti Temple(:

Dee & I on our way to Vegas! (:

The beautiful view on our way to Vegas(:

And...

My favorite view(: Whenever I go through this I can't help but think.. How can anyone think there isn't a God??
“All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth... and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” (Alma 30:44 from the Book of Mormon) (Not sure what the book of mormon is? Or want to learn more? Click here: http://mormon.org/faq#faq/topic/book-of-mormon)

& Look! The temple was finally in view!

After going in the temple, we wanted to take a picture next to the temple. (The thing says: "Holiness to the Lord the House of the Lord" it says that on every temple.)

I need to get better at writing once a week..

Anyway I want to talk about just one more thing.

It's Been a Year Since...

I decided to move out of my dad's house. I knew I needed to do something else with my life than just work 14 hour days.. I wanted to go to college & just start my life already. I was sick of it being on hold. I had no idea where I would go but I knew for sure I needed to get out of California.. First though I stayed with my Aunt Kristie & Uncle Eric & my cousins! Words cannot express how thankful I am that they were there for me & welcomed me into their home for 10 days. It was fun to spend time with all of them! (: here are a few pictures:

My cousin Rhonnie & I eating milkshakes..

Rhonnie & I being silly with our intertubes!

& September 3, 2011 was  "Gold Rush Day" in Sacramento.. so we all went down there & walked around Sac & went into the train Museum & the shops along the streets. We went into a halloween store & all of us girls tried on Go-Go boots. haha it was a lot of fun!
I Just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you! Aunt Kristie, Uncle Eric, Rhonnie, Hunter, Danielle, Jesikah, Heath, & Trace! I had a lot of fun that week! Going to cheer practice with you guys, making up funny stories, laughing non stop, & nuemerous other things! (:

That's all for now!

Life as a musical...

ANNIE!
About a week ago Dee & I watched the movie Annie.. One of my favorites... Dee doesn't typically like musicals but I begged him to watch it! (Either that or Hairspray & let me just say, he absolutely hates hairspray!) So he finally gave in. I was so happy that he actually watched it! I guess you could say my favorite type of movies is "Musicals". I LOVE musicals. I don't know if it's the singing... Or if it's the dancing.. or both. All I know is I love it! It's probably both. Just because I love to dance, & I love music & singing (No I cannot sing... unfortunately!)
I was introduced to musicals when I was really young. My Aunt Jolie would always watch musicals & Megan & I happened to always be around when she would watch them! I loved watching all the Shirley Temple movies.. I don't know if those are considered musicals, but they had a lot of singing & dancing in them! I also grew up watching Grease! (I love love love that movie.) As well as all the Disney movies.. I know they're not musicals, but they DO have singing! (: (I absolutely love the older Disney movies. Like Hercules.. I would watch that over & over again growing up. Actually I probably still could watch that movie over & over again now! I also like Beauty & the Beast, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Aladdin, Lion King, Etc.) Oh & there are also some newer Disney movies that I love as well because of the singing & dancing: The Princess & the Frog!! (All time favorite! Okay.. they're all my favorites. ha) & Tangled!
Let's just say I loved when movies had singing & dancing & still do! Other musicals I love are: Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Annie (Of course), Burlesque, footloose (both of them!), The TV show Glee, Chicago, The Sound of Music,  Moulin Rouge,  High School Musical (All of them), South Pacific, Singing in the Rain, & Pretty much any musical you can think of! (:
Anyway to get on with the point of this.. I always wanted my life to be like a musical.. Where everyone would just burst out dancing.. & singing! Wouldn't that be cool?? I thought that I was probably wishing for something impossible.. until I met/ Married Dee. (:
Dee & I sing about everything! Even ask the lady at the DMV.. (When I got my named changed after we got married I started singing something about my license & the lady asked Dee "Does she always sing about everything?" I hadn't realized I was singing until after she said that.. ha He told her "Yes.") I really like that Dee & I sing about everything. It kind of helps when you get into an argument.. you know because we are singing everything & it's hard  to stay mad at each other when you're singing!(: Anyway I'm so happy I'm married to Dee. I'm so happy that I was blessed to get everything I wanted & more! Like I said I would have never imagined having a musical like life! Dreams really do come true! ;)

Also this week I made Rolls. They were pretty good. I absolutely love baking & cooking! I always feel so accomplished when I make something new.. from scratch! I think eventually I want to own a my own bakery & cake parlor! I love making cakes. I think anyone who knows me can tell you I do. I mean I pretty much made my Wedding cake.. Okay I just did the fondant.. but I could have easily made the whole thing like I wanted to do, but I guess when you're the bride you have so much stress that you never thought about when you weren't getting married. So my mom & grandma made the cakes. I did the fondant though because neither of them knew how to make it (Since it was a June wedding & 102 F degrees & outside, if we did butter cream frosting like we were planning... it would have melted!). Anyway before I go off about random things again, This is how the rolls turned out:

On Sunday (Sunday August 5, 2012) I made homemade chimichangas! Dee loved them, & I loved them. I looked at a recipe but I mostly made it my own. I used one thing similar to the recipe just because I wasn't sure if I would like it the way they said to make it.
First of all, the recipe didn't call for Pinto Beans (Or any beans for that matter).. or Shredded chicken. But as you can see I used both!(:

So you just cook the chicken in a frying pan.. & then shred it with a fork after wards. Then you use Seasonings that you use in tacos.. or burittos. & put 1/2 cup of Sour Cream (This is the thing I copied from the recipe)

Then you put the beans, Chicken, & Cheese on the tortilla! & wrap it up & put melted butter on top of the chimichangas & on the bottom of it as well & make sure to preheat oven to 425F & bake for 20 minutes (Or until golden brown) & after the 20 minutes add cheese on top of them & turn oven off & put the chimi back in the oven until it's melted! You can serve it with lettuce, tomatoes, and/or Sour cream (Or anything you want!)

That's all for now!

The story of Dee & Michelle!

The Dating Life:

Hello! (: I thought it would be fun to write about how Dee (My husband) & I met & how long we dated
before we got engaged!

Dee & I officially met on Thursday December 29th, 2011. I had just moved here from California the end of October & my sister & brother-in-law decided to set me up on a blind date. They informed me about Dee sometime after Thanksgiving. (First let me start by telling you when I first moved here in October I really, REALLY, REALLY, wanted to get married. I don't know why I did.. don't ask, but I did. but by Mid November after my 20th birthday.. I realized I did NOT want to get married. I was only 20.. I had my whole life ahead of me. I didn't want a boyfriend. I just wanted to date around. I had a couple years before I needed to settle down.)
They started off by saying "We have good news Michelle!" & I was like what is that?
Then they said "How would you like to go on a blind date?" I was like "I don't know.."
Then they told me his name (Dee) & where he worked, & all those details.
Then Megan (My sister) Said "We keep running into him" & both her & Justin decided that we would get along. Justin & Dee knew each other because they were in the same Elders Quorum presidency together in the singles ward before Justin got married to my sister.
Finally I agreed.

So then around Christmas time Dee got a hold of me to set up a date. We were originally were supposed to go out on Christmas Eve.. but my work schedule kept changing. So I kept changing the date, I'm surprised he still wanted to go on a date after that... We agreed that we should just go on a date the following week. After promising him I wouldn't change the date again he let me know that we could go out on Thursday.

When Thursday came around I didn't get nervous until he knocked on the door right on time (6pm). I freaked out! I only knew the words "I don't want to go." (Ask my cousin Lindsey.. haha) But finally Lindsey convinced me that it would be okay & I only had to go on one date. & she calmed me down. So I grabbed my purse & finally walked out to meet my Future Husband.. Man was he good looking ;) We shook hands & walked out to his car. He even opened the car door for me!

His car smelled like Pizza... YUM! (I love pizza!) Now anytime I smell pizza it reminds me of our first date, & all while we were dating.. & I love it! Once we started driving away from my aunt & uncle's house I told my self to breathe... On the way to the restaurant we made small talk. The restaurant we went to is called Iggy's. We sat at a booth & took turns asking questions. Thing I remember most, was that I told him I didn't like basketball.. & then I realized he was wearing a basketball hat. I felt like an idiot. The thing he would tell you about the date is that I was playing with my hair A LOT so he was thinking "Ooh! She likes me!" But if you know me.. I ALWAYS play with my hair.. Not that I wasn't into him.. because I was. (:

After dinner we went to Mini Golf. It was a lot of fun.. Except I sucked. After golfing we headed back to my  Aunt & Uncle's house.. It was only 9pm. We parked the car in front of the house & just kept talking.. Around 11pm we finally ended the date & He walked me up to the door. I couldn't stop smiling. I told Lindsey all about it before we went to sleep!

Megan called the next morning to get the details & see what I thought.. Meanwhile Dee & Justin were at the gym & Justin was getting the details from Dee.

We went on another date the Monday after our 1st date. We got hot chocolate & went to Dixie Rock & Just talked. We hung out a lot after that. We didn't become "Official" until January 15... because I was in denial. You know, because I didn't want a boyfriend, but I really really liked him. So I finally gave into myself (But we consider the first date the time we started dating)

Once we started dating We decided that we would take pictures every time we were together.
Here are some pictures:

Dee & I at Dixie Rock after I came home from California.
February 28, 2012.. "Creepy Day" haha Dee & I call it creepy day because everyone was always asking when we were getting married & we had only been dating for two months.. So on this day after our institute class was over this girl said "You're getting married" & I was like "What?" & she was like "Never mind.. Awkward" & then in our second Institute class this married couple were taking a class together & I almost told Dee "When we're married lets take a class together!" & then I realized what I was going to say. That's when we decided that we would just get all of our creepiness out that day.
So for the rest of the day we kept saying "When we're married this.." or "when we're married that.." & we meant for it to be a joke.. But the funny thing is, we realized we wanted all of that. This is the day we realized we WANTED to be married. (:
