Take a Hike!

Lately the husband & I have been going on hikes! We are planning on going to Havasupai in a couple weeks with my cousin Brandon, & his wife Nicole! It should be fun. I'm a little nervous though, because I'm that girl that gets grossed out if I have dirt under my nails, I'm that girl that HAS to shower because I cannot bare the thought of being dirty! I am that girl that has BARELY gone camping in her whole life. (Camping as: In a tent.. or sleeping on the ground.. or no showering.. etc! I've definitely have camped in a trailer, on a nice bed, with a shower to shower in, & all the nice things that come with camping in a trailer.) Yes I have gone to girls camp, but we were allowed to shower.. & I always slept on a blow up mattress or something along the lines of that. So I'm a little scared... because I am that girl that is pretty much as people would say a girly girl. Yes I like pink, I like dresses (A LOT) I paint my nails, I don't really play ball sports (I like dance, cheerleading & running sports), & I hate getting dirty. I am a wimp.
But guess what.. when you get married (at least for me) I think something inside you changes, & you feel more confident in yourself, your self esteem goes up, you want to do things your spouse wants to do, & you don't feel the need to impress anyone (Because hey you have a man/women for eternity, & they're stuck with you! ;) haha I am just kidding of course...) You want to try new things. You want to get out there & see the world...
Yes so that girly girl wimp I was talking about.. Yeah that USED to be me. I. Can. Do. This! I am going to hike down 10 miles to Havasupai & camp in the wilderness for I think 3 days.. & I am going to prove that the girly girl wimp doesn't exist anymore! (well.. for the most part I think I'll still wear dresses & choose dancing & cheerleading over football or basketball.. or even hiking ANY DAY!)
Anyway.. to put things short I (& my husband) are very excited about this trip! We most definitely are looking forward to it. That is why we have been doing some hiking... & having pretend camp outs in our living room & planning MORE hiking trips before March 13th rolls around.
Not only are we breaking our new hiking shoes in, we are getting out of the house, getting exercise, trying something new, & doing it together. & I must say that is the best part ever. I love doing stuff with Dee, he is my best friend. He is everything to me, & we just have fun together no matter what we do. So I say... Try something new with your spouse, or with a friend or yourself... it'll be fun!

This is Havasupai:
It is beautiful! I cannot wait to see it in real life..

Our first hike together:
On our first hike we went to Temple Quarry Trailhead.

Our second hike together:

We went to Dixie rock & did the hike behind it. I really wanted to see a turtle.. because there was a sign that said "Remember you are a guest in someone's home." & it was talking about turtles!! I didn't see any though. Maybe next time! ;)

Living room camp out:

Last night for our date night, we had a living room camp out! We bought glow in the dark stars & placed them on the ceiling above where we set up the tent. We also made tinfoil dinners & roasted marshmallows (over our stove.. ha) & made yummy smores! We also used our new LED flashlights! It was a lot of fun! It was a different kind of date.. but those are always the best I think! (:
Well this is the story of why we decided to have a living room campout:
Dee jokingly said that he should set up the tent in the living room, & I took him seriously & said "We should have a living room camp out!" I was excited. & Dee said "Do you want to?" & obviously I said YES! haha So we planned it & it turned out wonderful.
Well that is all for now.. Tomorrow we are going on another hike! It shall be fun! I cannot wait!(:
